These outstanding teas undergo partial (20%-80%) oxidation. The tea master carefully controls this degree of oxidation to produce teas with an almost infinite spectrum of flavours and textures: fruity, floral, silky, sharp, sweet, bitter-sweet. Some teas also undergo additional roasting adding a ‘smoky” dimension to the taste. Our premium range is distinguished by being from authentic tea plant species, often derived from original plants 100s of years old. This adds some wilder herbal characteristics to the rich palate of flavours.
